What Next?

For the past 3+ years I’ve spent my time primarily focused on building two websites; GuitarTricks.com and 30DaySinger.com. One started off as a vBulletin forum 18 years ago and had years worth of opinionated code. During my time there I advocated for the transition of that project to be written in Laravel, utilize modern standards, and ultimately reach the best scalability and stability it could.

Fast forward to today, I can look back and proudly say that my advocacy and initiatives helped ensure that the stability and future scalability of both websites will continue to see great success. Any developer that comes along will appreciate the efforts I made to document processes, change things to be more simple, and breath easier knowing there are proven processes to many situations they may face. Truth be told, my work was built on the efforts of the developer before me and without that person my success wouldn’t be possible.

Saying goodbye to the team and people I grew to really care about and for was tough, sad, and difficult. At the end of the day, I can rest easy knowing that I’m available to them should they ever need advice, or help with things and that’s a good feeling!

#So now what?

I’ve began fully focusing on a platform that will make trips to Disney even more magical. It’ll allow families to get the most out of their visit and afford them the ability to craft the expeirence of a lifetime! My role is to lead development, establish standards, and engineer solutions. Ensuring the API can handle ingesting thousands of records a day and that the front-end can serve hundreds of thousands of requests. I’ll be creating a happy, productive, and relaxed environment for success on the development side of this emerging startup!

I fully believe in the company that is behind the idea, and being able to work on the project will be a very inspiring and magical thing (no pun intended).

#Side Projects

I usually take on a large project during the winter and almost always never complete it. With the exception of LinkerBee.me and Pay2WinBoard.com, I’ve started and stopped many online game projects, SaaS, and ideas that I was passionate about. In order to scratch the itch I have outside of professional career programming and growth, I’m uploading House Music mixes to YouTube. My best video has 30k views and that’s something I’m quite proud of! I post on the second week of every month and my fan base has been extremely supportive. Let me know if you come across my sets 😉
