No, I didn’t forget about my ever so exciting blog. I just became super busy with work, life, and clients. 2016 ended fairly badly for me, but the new year has brought more clients than I know how to handle (but yet, I somehow manage).
A good friend of mine introduced me to Fiverr about 2 months ago, and then volunteered to direct overflow clients to me. I never expected it to bring in anything, as I wasn’t familiar with what the modern day Fiverr platform could do. I was WRONG (insert annoying Trump quote). I’ve been getting request after request for jobs, both small and cheap, to large and expensive, I didn’t think I’d be seeing a situation where I was able to decline work or pass on things – I’ve been pretty fortunate.
My personal life has become a bit hectic, but I’ve used the situation to really grow as a person, meet new friends, and reconnect with the social aspect of life. I’ve even rekindled a friendship that started in elementary school (some 17 years ago!), I’ve focused on myself, my children, and being a better, more outgoing me! I never thought that rebuilding myself at 27 would be a good idea, fun, or full of opportunity, but it has and so in a way – I’m thankful of the ability to my situation has granted me.
And to wrap up – I’m not sure what this year’s focus will be on. I’ve learned that all the planning, desire, and effort in the world still wont keep things from changing or happening. I really wanted to get into game development last year, but I lost interest (again). I wanted to build massive e-commerce platforms, and even though I’ve gotten http://brickbeards.com started and have it all planned out, I’m not sure how much effort will go into it this year. One of my issues have been starting projects without much research or ‘big picture’ thought, I hope to get rid of that habit this year. Overall, I’m focused on making my clients happy and building things for others. It’s where the money is, and it’s been pretty fun so far!
